1913·Anthony W. Ivins·Apostle
Then I have thought as I have looked into the faces of these magnificent congregations of Latter-day Saints, which have assembled here, that if the words of the prophets are true, Christ Himself, being the greatest of them all, we know, we have this assurance, that at sometime subsequent to the period in which He ministered in the flesh. His gospel must come back to earth and be established again among men. He taught this to His disciples from the beginning, that He must leave them, that He must suffer for the sins of the world, but just as He testified of His glorious

I have felt an essence pass from me in administering to the Saints that I know was of divine origin. I have seen its results. I know that it is divine. Theories concerning its origin have come and gone, and the book still lives on to testify that Jesus is the Christ.

Christ is our great Exemplar. I declare, as a special witness, that he is the Son of God and “is the life and the light of the world.” ( Alma 38:9 ; see also D&C 11:28 .) We develop self-mastery as we become like him, I testify in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Each of the prophets has testified of the personal revelation by which they have come to know the truthfulness of the gospel and of the spiritual strength of such revelation.
